It's all the buzz! We did our guest dj set for Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child, and my 6 year-old chose Night Ranger's "Sister Christian" as one of his picks. You can't believe all the BUZZZZZ about it--I mean . . . . there's like tv crews, news reports, bloggish uproar. . . um, I mean Bill and Scribble Jim and I emailed about it.

In order to set the record straight to ALL THE PUBLIC who are TALKING ON AND ON about this, I pose this question: What's the strangest song your kid has ever loved?

I mean, when I started listening to the crazy mix of 80's songs my friend Sunshine put together for me for my birthday last year, I didn't really expect "Sister Christian" to be the one that my boys (6 & 4) would be yelling, "play it again!" about from the backseat.

C'mon, let's put together a list: what are the strange ones that made you shake your head and go, "Really? You like THAT one?"

Camille requested that Ralph play the Bad Examples song "Calico Kid" at a small gathering. I was surprised that she liked that Ralph Covert song so much.

Well, I'm glad I got out of the metal thing before it became too cheesy, but I'll admit that is a darn catchy tune. Motorin', indeed.

When she was 2, my daughter loved Jodi Watley's "Looking for a New Love"... yeah, yeah, yeah, she did! By the time she was 3, she'd given up on the Disco Diva and embraced Billy Joel's "Running on Ice" (which she heard as "Running a Race!"). When she was four, we were driving home late one night and a VERY drowsy voice from the back carseat said, "That's a good song..." It was the Rolling Stones' "Beast of Burden!" And here's a couple more for you... At 6 she was absolutely nuts for the Beach Boys (which really made us shake our heads, because WE were never big FANS!) And at 8, she LOVED anything from the opera "Carmen" the point of dressing as ACT II Carmen for Halloween!! Sorry to go on about this, but I was always fascinated by how personal her choices were... thanks for bringing back the memories!!!!
